Strong, proactive maintenance plans coupled with planning for growth are two factors important to street and sewer projects.
Authorize the issuance of General Obligation bonds not to exceed $227,465,000 million dollars for street, sewer, parks and public safety infrastructure projects in the City’s Capital Improvement Plan (CIP).
These are part of the on-going bonding authorization process for infrastructure improvements which occur about every 4 years.
Strengthen economic development
Maintain Omaha’s infrastructure
Create business for Omaha companies (cement, pipes, materials)
Create jobs (construction, engineering, services)
The bonds will provide the City of Omaha much-needed resources necessary to
match federal and state funding
There is NO additional property tax increase
